The 2nd Board Meeting for NACE West Asia and Africa Region will be held on the 4th of February 2008. The meeting will be a chance for all board members from the region’s section to give update on their current activities, and network with other sections officers. The meeting will be attended by Cliff Johnson NACE Public Affairs Director.
Agenda – 1st revision meeting - this is the second kick-off meeting for the review and revision of ISO 14692 - GRP piping. At this meeting the major parts of the document that require review will be identified and general recommendations on what the updated revision should contain. The agenda for the meeting is;
- Scope of document - is the current scope still valid?
- General format of document - aim is to make the revision easier to interpret
- Other references - what relevant references, standards can be used use to assist in the revision
- Major revision issues – identification of which sections require major revision and what the contents of these revised sections should contain
- Minor revision issues – identification of which sections only require minor revisions, i.e. small changes.
- Approach for revision – need to agree the approach and procedure for agreement of the revision
Composite Repair Workgroup Meeting (Tuesday 5th, February, 2008)
This meeting (which is open to all interested parties) will contain a brief summary of the recent activities of the composite repair workgroup. The following activities will be summarised and presented;
- Update of current standards development
- Progress on repair workgroup activities including;
Patch repairs
Repair of pipeline dents
Axial load qualification
Elevated temperature de-rating factors
Inspection of defects about to go through wall
