This session will focus on research related to corrosion mechanisms and
corrosion control. It will also address corrosion modeling and simulation
techniques that would eventually lead to solving field corrosion problems and
offer better understanding of the corrosion process. |

5. Materials Selection, Failure Analysis and Welding

This session will discuss both conventional and advanced technologies in various
ferrous and non-ferrous metallic materials and welding disciplines for corrosion
prevention and mitigation. It will also focus on case studies, including service
applications and failure analysis. |

8. Water Treatment and Chemical Cleaning

This session will deal with experiences with materials for use in both thermal
and membrane based desalination plants. Other topics to be covered include
control of corrosion and scaling. The session will also cover topics on novel
chemical/mechanical cleaning techniques, new inhibitors for existing cleaning
procedures, and any other methods for mitigating corrosion during cleaning
operations. |

9. Student Poster

Graduates and undergraduate students who are involved in research related
to corrosion prevention and control (subjects that fit into any of the conference
technical sessions) are encouraged to prepare and submit their research posters to
the Conference Technical Committee before October 15, 2009. |
